HoloMeeting Feature Update - Persistent Meeting Rooms

December 10, 2018

Persistent meeting rooms at scale have been one of our intended goals since the beginning of our HoloMeeting adventure. We are happy to announce that this goal is now a firm feature of our HoloMeeting application.

The need for persistent meeting spaces is a clear one. As we have strived to achieve a level of closeness between HoloMeeting and real-world meetings, the ability to virtually 'close the doors' and return to find everything as you left it was a must.

This has now come to fruition meaning that users can now create rooms as they wish using the and hold meetings with ease between clients and colleagues. Whereas before now meeting rooms would effectively re-set after each sitting, they will now remain meaning that when objects or content such as 3D files or Powerpoint presentations are placed within a space and participants leave, when they return all of the items will still be in place.

We have also ensured that items load into the space individually meaning that if there were any issues in loading an item - for instance, a particularly large video-file - other files, documents and content would still appear and not be 'held back' by the item which is still loading.

Enhancing meetings on a conceptual level

We have a clear and lofty aim for HoloMeeting - to enhance and even improve meetings on a conceptual level. We believe that by incorporating many of the 'features' of regular meeting scenarios into HoloMeeting- such as the ability to lock the door and come back at a later time, pause for lunch or a tea break etc. - that we will be able to challenge the norms and status quo of what meetings can be.

As users get to incorporate these new features into their daily working practices and see the added efficiencies and benefits of HoloMeeting compared with regular meetings, and other established forms of meeting. we will together usher in a new era of collaboration and communication.
